Alan Sugar’s attitude towards Tottenham 13

Everyone’s has opinions on how they’d run their favourite football team, but when you’ve already had that chance and done poorly, your opinions do lose some credibility.

That’s Alan Sugar, continuing on a path he’s been treading for quite some time now.

Sugar is best categorised as a former Premier League chairman who understood the business aspect of the game, but who never really showed the same level of ambition or nous when it came to football-related decisions. He cleared the club’s debt, yes, but he’s also ran Tottenham as more of a business than a football team, and contributed to an entirely unpalatable on-field product during his reign. With the exception of the Ossie Ardiles team, the ten years in which he ran the club mark as some of the most miserable in its modern history.

Gerry Francis, Christian Gross, George Graham…sorry my Lord, but what do really know about good managerial appointments?

..and you know, he’s also mates with Piers Morgan, which is about as damning a thing as you can say about someone.
