Arsenal vs Borussia Dortmund: Individual Player Statistics 0

Everyone has an agenda now at Arsenal and last night’s win over Borussia Dortmund will be presented in different ways depending on the individual’s stance towards Arsene Wenger.  The detractors will no doubt point to the German side’s lack of confidence and form, but realistically this was a genuinely notable improvement on the last couple of weeks - Arsenal were excellent.

Here are their notable stats from The Emirates:

- Santi Cazorla had more touches than any other Arsenal player (84)

- Alexis Sanzhez led the game in shots (3) and shots on-target (2).

- Santi Cazorla created 3 goal-scoring opportunities, more than any other player.

- Cazorla also completed 87.5% of his passes, more than any other starting, non-defensive home player.

- Aaron Ramsey made a team-high 5 tackles.

- Per Mertesacker made over double the number of defensive-clearances of any of his teammates (7).

- Santi Cazorla attempted a team-high 7 crosses.

- Cazorla was also the only Arsenal player to complete a cross (1).

- Cazorla also completed more long-passes than any other Arsenal player (7 from 8).

- Alexis Sanchez led the game with 6 successful dribbles.

- Sanchez was also both his side’s most-fouled (3) and most frequently dispossessed player (6).

For Squawka: Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool, and the need to avoid overreaction.
