James Ward-Prowse’s weekend performance for Southampton: Stats and graphics 0

I’m fast becoming a fan of James Ward-Prowse, even if it’s just for the quality of his delivery from wide areas - he’s yet another under-valued player at Southampton, and created the opportunity from which they equalised on Saturday against Stoke.

His statistics from the season don’t necessarily reflect this, but beyond his creative player he’s also one of the better defensive wide players in the league - and no doubt that’s why Mauricio Pochettino is so fond of him.

Here are Ward-Prowse’s statistics from the weekend:

- Played all 90 minutes.

- Had 85 touches of the ball, the joint-most in the game.

- Had 2 shots, 1 of which hit the target.

- Created 3 goal-scoring opportunities, the most in the game.

- Completed 78% of his passes.

- Won 1 aerial-duels.

- Made 2 successful tackles.

- Made 3 interceptions.

- Led the game in attempted (12) and completed (4) crosses.

- Completed 1 successful dribble.
