Liverpool and the Greek forward: Welcome to January 0

We’re getting closer to Christmas and New Year, which means that we’re nearing the opening of the latest transfer-window - which, in turn, means that we’re going to have to get used to more and more rumour-themed articles.

The Mirror are quick off the blocks, with their claim that Liverpool are ready to bid for Olympiakos’ Greek forward Konstantinos Mitroglou. Whether you believe that is up to you, because there’s seems to nothing supporting it beyond the paper’s own insistence that it’s true - and remember, The Mirror are in the habit of reading transfer stories in foreign papers, translating them, and passing them off as fresh work.

You be the judge.

Anyway, what of Mitroglou? Who knows - I’ve never seen him play, so I’m going to take the lazy approach and just give you some YouTube video that can be used for future reference - he’s scored three goals in four Champions League appearances this season, and twenty goals in all competitions last year.

If Liverpool’s transfer-fund is limited in January, then it’s questionable whether any of it would be allocated towards bringing-in another forward, so from that stand-point this story wouldn’t seem to have a lot of legs.
